Every two days we will publish a different age group, where the needs and levels of development are very different: We hope you like it and find it useful.

From birth to 6 months:

During the first six months of life, babies learn to control their muscles, internalize and understand sensory stimuli, and express their physical and emotional needs. In the first weeks of life, babies need physical and visual contact with people. Keep in mind that their eyes' optimal focal distance is only 20 to 25 cm. When they are about five weeks old, they acquire new skills that help them explore their own bodies and their immediate surroundings. Toys that are designed to match your baby's growing abilities will help keep him happy, interested, and stimulate rapid learning.

Sensory, social and motor development in the first months

During the first six weeks, babies develop muscle control needed to hold their heads up. They like to look at their mother's face and focus on objects with high color contrast. From those six weeks onwards, the baby responds to being smiled at, smiling back and showing pleasure. Between two and three months, they begin to stretch their bodies, extend their fingers, and learn to loosen and relax their hands. It's at this time that they are surprised to discover their own hands and feet and begin to play with them. They begin to develop stronger, more deliberate movements with their legs and arms. They have fun waving them and take their first swings at objects within reach. At three months, they can already lift their neck and head upwards while lying on their stomach.

Energy galore!

By the time they reach four months, they are increasingly active. While lying on their stomachs, they can not only easily lift their heads, but can also turn them from side to side. This physical development provides them with new opportunities to interact with the world around them. They are now interested in their surroundings and can turn and move to see and hear things. They can control their arms and hands to bring nearby objects to their faces and put them in their mouths. They are able to hold and shake objects like a bottle or a rattle. They enjoy laughing and vocalizing, and they coo when someone speaks to them. Even when they are alone, they will listen to their own sounds and practice their first babbling.

They no longer stay where you left them!

During the 5th and 6th months, babies can shift into different positions, change sleep positions, and sit with some support for short periods of time. Hand-eye coordination has improved, so they can now transfer objects from one hand to the other.
