Jueves de juegos: El oro del Orinoco

Thursday Games: The Gold of the Orinoco

Gold fever has arrived on the Orinoco River! The ruins of an ancient culture have recently been discovered deep in the jungle, very close to the river. Pack your bags, you're off on a treasure hunt! But... be careful! The treasures are on the other side of this great river, one of the longest in all of America... You'll have to use logs to cross the river, and use your wits to collect as many gold coins as possible. The Gold of the Orinoco is a game where decision-making is vital to advancing and collecting the maximum amount of treasure. Each turn can vary depending on the movements of the logs and the other players, so mental flexibility is key. The goal is to cross the river to collect coins and achieve the highest score at the end of the game. 7 to 99 years 2 to 4 players 15 to 20 minutes

Preparations:
Set up the giant 100 x 25 cm board in the center of the table. Place the 5 logs inside the river, in any order you like, but always with one end touching the rock known as "The Gold Keeper." Choose a color and place the SUV in front of you so everyone knows whose adventurers belong. Place the adventurers on one bank of the river (wherever you want), and the gold coins face down on the other bank. The spaces not covered by trees and brush should have the coins face up, and the rest should be face down. Prepare the dice. The brown die will move the logs, and the white die will move the adventurers.
How do you play?
Taking turns and going clockwise, the player who was the last to see some gold rolls the brown die first. They choose a log and move it toward the waterfall, as many spaces as the number of points rolled on the die. Care must be taken to ensure that no log is too far in front or too far behind that the adventurers cannot pass. Then, the white die is rolled, and either of the two adventurers of their color moves. Movements can only be forward and toward the waterfall. If another adventurer is on a space that another adventurer needs to pass, they pass over it, and the space where the other adventurer is standing does not count. When an adventurer reaches the other side of the river, they collect the coin, keep it, and return the adventurer to the original bank of the river to continue playing.
When does the game end?
When the logs touch the last square of the cascade, the gold coins are tallied and the points are added up. The player who has collected the most gold points wins! In short, here's a very fun board game for the whole family, and one that will remind some of the well-known pool arcade game "Frogger." Can't wait to see this game in the store? It's available here :-)
