Thursday Games: My First Treasure - Meadow and Stable

In the last posts we introduced you to My First Treasure of Games by HABA. We'll briefly remind you what it's about, and then we'll quickly explain the next game: Meadow and Stable.
This box contains 10 games that introduce the first rules: taking turns and the sequence of play. A collection of games where we can play freely, or follow the rules of six different games and some variations. Games involving dice traversal, shape and color recognition, performing routines on the farm, shopping at the market, memory... This collection of games encourages both expressive and receptive language.

Today we're going to review Meadow and Stable , a classic memory game for 2-6 players ages 3 and up.
Preparations:
This game uses 32 cards, 16 with "Meadow" backs and 16 with "Stable" backs. Shuffle the cards and spread them out on the table, in no particular order. Just be careful not to let them overlap. It's a good idea to put all the "Stable" cards on one side and all the "Meadow" cards on the other. It's easier this way, but if you want to make it a little more complicated, mix all the cards on the table.
How do you play?
The goal of the game is to make as many pairs as you can find. The player who names a farm animal first goes first. Turn over one card from the "Stable" side and another from the "Meadow" side. Do they match?
  • Yes! Great, you keep this pair and keep uncovering pairs until they match.
  • No! Well, that's fine. Put the cards back where they belong, and let the next player try. In the meantime, memorize the position of each figure.
When does the game end? The game ends as soon as all the cards on the table are gone. Each player counts their pairs, and the one with the most wins! Next week we'll tell you how to play another game: Moo Moo . If you can't wait until next week to enjoy it, you can buy it in the store by clicking here .
