Who wants to be as brave and famous as Valerius the Brave? To achieve this, all squires must first overcome the kingdom's trials: encounter giants, dragons, witches, and other dangerous hazards! Whoever skillfully matches the landscape tiles and overcomes the challenges will ultimately be the glorious victor!

Valerio the Brave is a tile-based board game where the objective is to complete all the tasks assigned by the king before the rest of the opponents. This game develops motor and visual-motor skills by placing the pieces on the board in the correct order. Oh, and it has another advantage: it can be played with just one player!

Preparations:

The first step is to locate the triangular castle tile and place it in the center of the table. Make several small piles with the remaining 35 triangular tiles, shuffled and turned over (with the HABA logo facing up), and place them on the table.
Distribute the task tiles evenly: if there are two players, each player takes six tiles; if there are three players, five tiles; and if there are four players, each player should have four different task cards. Place the task tiles so you can see the map. Place the knight, Valerius the Clueless, on one side of the table, visible to everyone.
How do you play?

Each player, taking turns, will take two steps: first, take a landscape tile (triangular) from a pile, turn it over and place it next to the castle tile (starting with the first one), and then perform an action:
Note that each landscape tile has something on each of its sides: either a colored cross, an empty side, or a tournament house. If you choose to place a cross, it must be placed next to another tile of the same color, and if it is an empty side, it can only be placed on the empty sides of other tiles on the table. Tournament scenery pieces with houses cannot be placed next to an empty side and must always be placed so that they form a circular scene. If you cannot place the tile, put it in the stack and choose another until you can place it. Once you have placed the tile, you must perform an action:
Completing the task: If, by placing the landscape tile, you were able to place a pair of crosses of the same color, and you have a task card with the cross of the same color, congratulations! You can complete that task by placing the task card on top of the square with the crosses.
Participating in the Tournament: If, when you placed your landscape card, you were able to complete all 6 corners and form a tournament space, Ole Ole and Ole! You've won the tournament, and you can place any of your task cards.
Find the Clueless Valerio: If you placed your landscape card next to Valerio's token, he'll help you and you can play again. Note! He can only help you once, so choose your next move carefully.
Locating and Placing Valerio: If the landscape tile you just placed has a picture of Valerio's horse on it, you can pick it up from outside the board if it's the first time the horse has appeared, or from another landscape tile where it was, and place it on top. This is how Valerio moves around the board.
If you can't do any of these actions, it's okay, it's the next player's turn.
When does the game end?
The winner is the one who completes all of your tasks! If no one completes all of their tasks, but the landscape tiles run out, the one with the fewest tasks wins!
Single player variant:
This game has the advantage that it can also be played alone. At the end of the instruction book, there are puzzles with different shapes that you must complete:
It involves finding and placing the landscape cards in the shapes shown, with varying degrees of difficulty, always starting with the black card, which is Valerio's castle. The green shapes are for the little ones, the blue shapes are for the intermediate level, and the red shapes are for the more experienced players. The card placement rules still apply in this mode, so while it seems easy, it is not without its complications.
