Cloudberries started out in the World of Puzzles with two clear goals:
- Create beautiful puzzles that are incredible (see it for yourself)!
- Doing things "right": being respectful of people and the environment, taking care of customers, and having a lasting and positive impact on this planet and the people who live on it.
From day one, they have tried to put quality, sustainability and respect at the heart of what they do. These are some of the things they are doing to help bring about positive change through jigsaw puzzles:
A tree planted for every puzzle soldFrom 1 January 2020, every time you buy a Cloudberries puzzle - Cloudberries will plant a tree. They are the first (and so far the only!) puzzle company to do so.
They have a lasting partnership with the non-profit organisation "Eden Reforestation Projects", which exists to help reforest some of the world's most fragile environments. This means that by buying their puzzles you will be directly helping to fund tree planting projects in countries such as Indonesia, Nepal and Madagascar (the exact location depends on the time of year, planting needs and other factors).
Choosing this organisation was easy, as they not only strive to restore native forests, but also work hard to empower local communities, create wildlife refuges and help regulate the climate through coordinated tree-planting programmes. They also help local people to protect native trees until they reach full maturity, providing lasting work, helping to lift some of the world's poorer people out of it all.
Sustainability by designWhen they started with Cloudberries they had no idea whether they would be able to sell a single puzzle. But when the first orders began to arrive, they made a decision: they would do everything possible to be discreet.
What does that mean in practice? All Cloudberries puzzles are made from recycled paper and cardboard. And from 2019, all their puzzles and boxes are made from paper of sustainable origin (you can see the logo printed on the boxes).
In 2020, they started to phase out the plastic film used to protect the puzzles with a more ecological solution. They are fully aware that the sale of puzzles has an impact on the world we live in, and they are constantly striving to make improvements in that regard.
High levels of well-beingTheir puzzles are made by happy workers in a safe and healthy environment. They make all their puzzles in Europe, in one of the most developed countries of the continent, where workers enjoy good working conditions and are entitled to labour and social benefits.
Sponsorship of non-profit eventsSometimes they sponsor non-profit events, or very special events that try to bring people together for quality face-to-face interaction through the puzzles.
Strict quality and safety standardsAll your puzzles meet the EU's strict toy safety standards, which means that you can make a puzzle safely, knowing that you are not exposed to harmful chemicals or other hazards. We also carry out regular checks to avoid problems such as missing pieces or badly cut puzzles. If you notice any problems, please contact us and we will help you as much as possible.
