More info
This marine research vessel includes everything you need to make real progress in your knowledge of the sea: a bathyscaphe for underwater reconnaissance, a small powerboat, a lifeboat, a folding ramp and an opening hold hatch, as well as other interesting and fun elements present on real vessels. The model is equipped with a rotating arm crane for cargo handling and lifting the bathyscaphe. With the crane, you can take the bathyscaphe out of the depths and place it on its extendable platform.
All parts of the research vessel are made of high quality ecological wood and do not require any glue or additional tools for assembly. The "skeletal" design of the hull allows you to look into the hold and the engine room, and thus quietly observe the mechanisms that move the ship. The propulsive energy of the model is produced by a rubber band engine and regulated by a pendulum. The ingenious gear train of this organ imitates the sound of a diesel engine and provides the ship with a regular and constant speed. The model has three modes of movement: forward, turn and automatic manoeuvre. Everything is controlled by a lever that you can change position manually.
Feel the smell of the sea and the saltpetre on your skin as you sail off to future discoveries on board the Ugears Research Vessel!
UGEARS creates attractive and imaginative mechanical models, made of wood, which move by themselves and can be assembled without using glue.
Their designs are inspired by real mechanisms and show their love for art and ingenuity. At UGEARS they think that building these beautiful models should also be fun, and they dedicate their best expertise to the field of engineering. The meticulous testing and quality control of their products has only one goal: to ensure that their models provide a captivating and rewarding experience for the whole family.
